When starting up a business there are so many things to consider, such as registration and cash flow, to trademarking and compliance. However, once you have everything in place and are thinking about opening the doors to your business, marketing and brand positioning suddenly become incredibly important.

We all know marketing is essential for all businesses, regardless of size, but it is especially important for start-ups. Unless lots of people already know about your business and what it offers, they are unlikely to buy your products or services.

In general, your early marketing efforts have two goals:

  1. to reach potential customers
  2. to encourage them to choose you over anyone else
